SSL OOTD| Classic Vintage Sweaters, High-waisted Jeans, & Suede Booties Never Truly Go Out of Style
It’s almost Christmas time SSLs! And while lots of ladies are excited to go out and shop for the latest stylish pieces, I get a kick out of restyling my own wardrobe. While I’m definitely not a minimalist, I strive to make my closest work for me. I’m absolutely tired of having pieces go unworn or neglected. It’s a total waste of closest space. So, when I’m feeling as if I have nothing else to wear, I look to challenge my inner creative self to restyle older pieces. Pinterest and Instagram are a great help. Oh yeah, shoutout to Mom who’s let me shop her closet a few times for cool vintage pieces that are just looking to be revived. Do you all steal clothes from your mother? If so, let me know what’s your favorite pieces that you’ve gotten from your mom.
From my mother’s closet, I found a bright red sweater that was just calling my name. I was able to pair my Mom’s red vintage Liz Claiborne zip-up cardigan sweater with a pair of Madewell brand vintage boyfriend jeans (with the tag still attached) that I found at a local thrift store for around $17 bucks. #Savings To add a little extra chill protection, I paired my look with a chunky multi-colored infinity scarf and brown suede ankle boots.
Shoe Deets: I got these brown suede White Mountain ‘Special’ ankle boots from DSW a few years back in a size 11. While they fit pretty well along my foot, I do have to wear thicker sock to make them more fitted around my tiny ankles. Also, I wouldn’t recommend wearing these for long hours, they’re bearable not comfortable.
I do enjoy the versatility that comes with this neutral brown color. The possibilities are endless as you can pair these ankle boots with jeans (as I often do) or with skirt.
