According to the Refinery 29 article These Are The Worst Shoes For Your Feet featured podiatrists, mules/ slides AREN’T very good for the health of your foot because they force the toes to curl downward to try to create tension as to keep the shoes from sliding off. Personally, I’ve noticed that I’ve always had to make A LOT of effort to keep those old-school clog heels on my feet. I can vividly remember the great calf strain that I experienced after a winter night out in clog heels as a teenager. Any of you can relate to noticeable discomfort while sporting mules?
Despite the mule style’s bad rep., mules and slides are so darn CUTE. I won’t tell you that I’ll never try another pair. But, if you or I are gonna risk our foot’s health for this trend, we might as well do it looking chic as EVER, right?!
