Let’s talk kitten heels. Yes, I’m sure you’ve seen your grandma sport them back in her day or noticed a cool pair in your favorite vintage romance movie. These shoes are unique in that they are only between 1-2 inches in heel height. For some, the mere thought of such a short heel could seem like a TOTAL turnoff. But don’t turn off completely. This style is making a comeback in the very best ways- fresh designs and a new feel.
One of my favorite movies to watch from last year was The Man fromU.N.C.L.E. That movie was a thrilling action-packed film that featured some beautiful 60s looks that made me want to reconsider my entire wardrobe. While I didn’t notice many “kitten heels” per se in the movie, I did spot shorter heels that set a mental style precedent for me as designers like Francesco Russo, Prada, etc. debuted their kitten heel styles. I thought, “Well, maybe kitten heels can replace ballet flats for Queen Feet Ladies!” You know, the larger the shoes’ size, the more unattractive shoes like flats can become. For this exact reason, celebrity socialite, heiress, and Queen Feet influencer, Paris Hilton, has repeatedly mentioned that flats are not her jam as heels are her style of choice. In fact, I don’t know any woman with larger feet who doesn’t think about whether or not their shoes over exaggerate their foot’s size. So, kitten heels could be a win, win for SSLs.
