A Picturesque Afternoon at Bahia Palace

Looking for a completely visual experience while in Marrakech, Morocco?

Bahia Palace is one of the must-see places you need to visit in the Old City. It’s a unique former residence of sultans and high-ranking leaders that is the combination of several riads and gardens from the 19th century. While today, there are still several private rooms in use, this is a major tourist destination as it is a beautiful view of past Moroccan life.

Every room features different colors and textures. The hand-painted ceiling art reminds me that we have a lot of boring, underutilized ceiling space in the States. The wall tiles are colorful and reflective of artsy style of previous owners or architects. Some rooms also have multi-colored stained glass window treatments that add a fun vibe to their respective spaces.

It’s safe to say, that each doorway design was its own magical portal to a new visual experience.

Do keep in mind that it was quite hot during my recent visit earlier this month. To combat the heat, I opted for a white linen button-down dress and fedora to keep me cooler. For outfit details, see information below.
